Who Am I?

Hi, I’m Ahmed Saqib, a recent computer science graduate from “FAST National University of Computing and Emerging Sciences, Karachi”.

A little about my technological background, I love to work with data, previously I have worked as an intern and then as a Junior Data Scientist with a company named Untangl. I have explored different areas of working with data from data cleaning, data relationships, data visualization and analysis to making machine learning models. It is just fun, never have I felt bored with dealing with data and manipulating it to find insights which can help the business. There will be articles in the future about what I have learned until now, what was my journey like and how I’ll be learning more about it in the future.

Though in my final year, I was very much interested in the technology of blockchain, what’s going with it, how it’s revolutionizing the world, is that a technology that will grow in the future, what is it’s need? questions like these used to pop up in my head. So eventually, my final year project was a blockchain based research and product one in which my partners and I looked into the airline industry and tried solving the security part of it as well as introduce the whole concept of NFT Marketplace for customer loyalty. But that’s not it, using the concepts of blockchain and smart contracts we tried to solve the ticketing and overbooking issue with the help of technology used in generating NFTs. It was really a challenge because we had bare minimum resources to work with and neither any of the Professor judging us was aware of this concept. (People should enhance their knowledge more than just crypto). Well we managed to make a prototype and got cleared with it.

But that’s not it. I have other interests too. Sales & Marketing. The time of admission and pursuing a career I was slightly confused in either opting of Computer Science or going into the Business side. I come from a family where mainly everyone is into jobs and that mindset is just passed from one generation to another but me, I want to build a successful business in the future, maybe a technological one or maybe something else. When I look back there were things related to Sales which I did, got success in it but failure was also a part of it. Luckily, I got into the Media & Promotions department and then into Marketing which kind of brought back that love for selling something to someone, either selling an event to a university student or selling a sponsorship or partnership to a company.

It’s been really difficult for me to find my cup of tea because usually people having a diverse skill set are looked. I’d say I would love to get into a tech firm in the Growth & Partnership department where I could work with individuals helping with what products should we build for the consumers and how we can partner with other companies or brands to make it a big thing.

I’ve started this journey of writing articles just because I felt it’s the right time to share my stories and knowledge with the people or what I think about life. So, you can expect some technology related articles, some philosophical articles, some articles related to my recent experiences after travelling. Rather than keeping my thoughts in my mind, I’ll write those out and take opinions on it. I will try to write at lease one or two articles per week (fingers cross).
